Nanooks Land Commitment from Forward Tommy Cronin

FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks hockey program has announced the addition of Tommy Cronin. Cronin, a 5-10, 187-pound forward, joins the Nanooks after two seasons with the Bismarck Bobcats in the North American Hockey League and stops in the USHL and BCHL.

"Tommy has a great motor and plays with a lot of creativity on the ice," said head coach Erik Largen. "He's a high-character individual who brings positivity and a strong work ethic to our culture." Cronin first hopped into juniors in 2022-23 when he played seven games for the Madison Capitols (USHL). He picked up one point on an assist in his seven appearances. The next year, he played nine games for the Waterloo Black Hawks, scoring one goal and picking up one assist in nine games before joining the Bismarck Bobcats in the NAHL.

In his first season with the Bobcats he skated in 41 games and produced 21 goals and 38 assists for 59 points and 1.43 points per game. Cronin's production carried into the 2023-24 playoffs; in nine games he posted four goals and assists for eight points.

2024-25 saw him make appearances in the USHL and BCHL before 31 games with the Bobcats. He skated in eight games for the Green Bay Gamblers, posting a pair of assists for his two points before playing in 15 games for the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the BCHL. In 15 games, he tallied 10 points on five goals and five assists. In his second season with the Bobcats, he skated in 31 contests, tallying 14 goals and 19 helpers for 33 points. In 13 playoff games, he posted 13 points, good for a point a game with three goals and 10 assists.

Cronin, who hails from Edina, Minn., intends on studying accounting at UAF and is the seventh announced newcomer for the Nanooks this offseason.
