FAIRBANKS - Peyton Platter was named the NCAA Division I Independent Hockey Rookie of the Month for February 2025. He is the fourth Nanooks player to earn a monthly honor this year.

Lassi Lehti earned Goalie of the Month honors twice, while Nicholas Grabko (Goalie) and Matt Hubbarde (Player) also earned NCAA Division I Independent honors. 

In seven games during the month of February, Platter posted five points on two goals and three assists. He also added nine blocked shots, good for second on the team in the month, and 14 faceoff wins. His first point of the month came in a 2-1 win at Lindenwood. He then scored his first-career goal a day later, giving him a point in two-straight games. Platter finished the month with three points in two games, posting a one-goal, one-assist, two-point game at Augustana on Feb. 22 (W, 5-3). His goal was the Nanooks second short-handed goal of the season and secured the win at the nationally-ranked Vikings. Platter's final point of the season came on Feb. 28 at LIU as he grabbed an apple in the loss to the Sharks. 

"Peyton has really emerged as an all-situations player for us," said head coach Erik Largen. "He is someone who can be trusted to play the game the right way, and it's great to see him get recognized for his efforts."
