FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks hockey team has announced the signing of Jack Plandowski, a left-wing who spent last season in the BCHL after three in the AJHL. 

"Jack is a player who has earned every opportunity through his work ethic and consistency," said head coach Erik Largen. "He brings skill, work ethic, and a relentless approach every day. We're excited to add someone who competes the right way and will make our team better on and off the ice." Plandowski's first season in the AJHL came in 2022-23 and was spent with the Blackfalds Bulldogs. He played in 45 games and posted 17 points on nine goals and eight assists. The next season saw him play for three separate teams. He played in just four games for Blackfalds before joining Drayton Valley for 23 games. There he posted eight points on five goals and three assists. He then joined the Calgary Canucks for 25 games and posted 12 points on seven tallies and five assists.

His 2023-24 season saw him post 21 points in 52 games. In 2024-25 he played for the Canucks again, posting a career-high 79 points in 50 games on 34 goals and 45 assists. The following year, he played for the Chilliwack Chiefs in the BCHL and in 54 games scored 29 goals and had a career-high 46 assists for 75 points. 

Plandowski racked up the individual accolades in juniors. In 2022-23 he was named to the AJHL All-Academic Team. The following season he was an AJHL Champion before his 2024-25 outburst where he earned AJHL (South) All-Start Team honors, was again an AJHL All-Academic selection, an AJHL Champion, led the AJHL in assists and goals, won the AJHL's Ernie Love Trophy (most points scored), was named the AJHL Top Forward, and won the Centennial Cup. 

2025-26 saw the same individual success in the BCHL; he was named to the BCHL All-Star Game, earned the BCHL's Bob Fenton Trophy (most sportsmanlike player), was a BCHL Second Team All-Star, and was named to BCHL Team Canada. 

Plandowski is 5-10, 174 pounds and a left-handed shot. He hails from Halifax, N.S. 

Additional signings will be announced in the coming days and weeks for the Alaska Nanooks hockey team as they prepare for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
