Nanooks Announce Signing of Sam Elliott

FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks hockey program has announced another addition for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Sam Elliott will call Fairbanks home this season after spending 2025-26 with the Wenatchee Wild in the WHL.

"Sam is a mature, dependable forward who plays a complete 200-foot game," said head coach Erik Largen. "He competes hard, has great character, and has had to earn it every step of the way. He is great in the dot, and I think he is just scratching the surface of what he can be." From 2022-25, Elliott played in the BCHL with the Surrey Eagles. He saw time in just one game during 2022-23, but tallied an assist, his lone point. During the next season, Elliott played in a career-high 46 games and posted a dozen points on four goals and eight assists. He was a part of the BCHL Championship team that season.

In 2024-25, his production per game soared as he put up 16 points in just 21 games, scoring seven goals and dishing out nine assists. The following season, he joined the Wenatchee Wild in the WHL and appeared in 45 games. Elliott scored five goals and had 11 assists for 16 points.

Elliott is a 6-1, 161-pound forward and a left-handed shot.

Additional signings will be announced in the coming days and weeks for the Alaska Nanooks hockey team as they prepare for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
