FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks hockey team has announced the addition of Grady Gallatin. Gallatin transfers to Alaska from Western Michigan University. 

"Grady is a strong, reliable defenseman who plays with confidence and toughness," said head coach Erik Largen. "He brings experience from a National Championship program and a steady presence to our back end. His ability to defend hard, move pucks efficiently, and play physically will have an immediate impact on our team." Before joining Western Michigan, Gallatin spent the 2023-24 season in the NAHL with the Janesville Jets. He appeared in 51 games, scoring 20 points on three goals and 17 assists. 

Gallatin joined the Western Michigan Broncos in 2024-25 and was a member of the National Championship team. In 2025-26 he made his first appearances for the Broncos, skating in 11 games. From the blue line, he tallied a pair of points, scoring one goal and adding one assist. He skated to a +5 and had six PIM. 

He is a 6-4, 205-pound defenseman with a left-handed shot. 

Additional signings will be announced in the coming days and weeks for the Alaska Nanooks hockey team as they prepare for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
