BILLINGS, Mont. - The Alaska Nanooks cross country teams have officially welcomed in the postseason. They will race at the 2025 GNAC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 25 with the women's team running first and the men's team following.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks are racing for the first time since Oct. 11 when they traveled to the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Ill. The women's team placed 22nd while the men's team finished 28th. On the women's side, they were led by
Lucca Duke. Duke posted a top-30 finish, taking 28th place with a time of 22:08.37 for 27 points.
Tabitha Williams followed right behind Duke, finishing 30th with a time of 22:11.59, earning 29 points for the Nanooks. The first personal best time posted today came from
Riga Grubis in the women's race as the junior raced to a 101st-place finish with a new best time of 23:05.55. That finish earned the Nanooks 99 points.
Teegan Silva and
Rory Claussen were the final scoring finishers for Alaska. Silva finished 248th in 24:57.61, earning 203 points. Claussen was just 10 seconds behind her teammate, taking 261st in 25:07.65.
Victoria Myers (284th, 25:44.83),
Madison Schuh (292nd, 26:02.49), and
Devyn Townsend (296th, 26:08.53) were the final racers to finish for the Nanooks. In the men's race,
Dexter Delaney led the Nanooks men's team again, cracking the top-50 today. He finished 49th with a time of 24:50.86. That earned the Nanooks 49 points.
Ian Baker was the second finishing racer for the men's team, earning 106 points while placing 108th. Baker crossed the finish line in 25:30.57.
Blake Hanley was the third racer to finish for Alaska, placing 228th in 26:25.73.
Finn Morley and
Nick Iverson were the final two scoring racers in the men's race for Alaska.
Finn Morley finished 244th in 26:34.90 for 206 points and Iverson finished 263rd (26:45.72) for 215 points.

Both teams will have eight racers competing at the GNAC Championships this weekend. On the men's side, the team will consist of:

- The Nanooks return to Billings for the 2025 GNAC Championships. Amend Park hosted last year's NCAA Division II West Region Championships on Nov. 9, 2024.
- At last season's GNAC Championships, the Nanooks men's team finished 7th with 196 points. The women's team posted a program-best finish, taking second with 74 points.
- Kendall Kramer won last season's GNAC Championship, her third-straight. She became just the second GNAC women's racer to win three individual cross country titles.
- Alaska has seen plenty of PR's set this season. Outside of the freshmen running this weekend, the Nanooks men's team saw three new bests posted by Blake Hanley, Finn Morley, and Clem Taylor-Roth.
- On the women's side, they've seen just as much success, posting five PR's from Lucca Duke, Riga Grubis, Madison Schuh, Teegan Silva, and Tabitha Williams.
What's to Come
Following this weekend's GNAC Championships, the Nanooks will have another week off before hitting the road for the 2025 NCAA DII West Regional Championships in Monmouth, Ore. (Hosted by Western Oregon). There, the teams and individuals will have one last shot at qualifying for the 2025 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Kenosha, Wisc.
Last season, the Nanooks took 19th in the men's race with 553 points and the women's team qualified for the NCAA Championships after placing fourth with 154 points. The women's team would go on to claim 13th at the NCAA Division II Championships.
