Last Time Out
The Nanooks are coming off of a split at home against the Michigan Tech Huskies on Oct. 17-18. On Friday night in game one, the Nanooks fell 3-1. After trailing 2-0, Braden Birnie scored his second goal of the season 14:29 into the third period, cutting the deficit in half. Unfortunately, nearly four minutes later, the Huskies scored an empty-net goal to secure the 3-1 win. The following night, Alaska turned it up a notch, picking up their first home win of the season. The Nanooks dominated MTU to a 5-1 win, scoring early to set the tone. Michael Citara needed just 2:04 off the first period clock to make it 1-0 Nanooks. 9:18 into the second period, the Nanooks found the back of the net again, this time through Peyton Platter. MTU added their lone goal in the second as the 2-1 lead carried into the third. Five minutes into the third, Beau Courtney scored his first-career goal to make it 3-1 Nanooks. Alexander Malinowski then added a penalty shot 8:11 into the third before Davis Borozinskis joined Courtney with his first-career goal with just 39 seconds remaining in the game.

Meet the Opponents
Wisconsin comes into this week's matchup riding two consecutive ties against Minnesota State on Oct. 16-17. They tied 1-1 OT on night one before a 2-2 OT tie on night two. Prior to that series, the Badgers opened up their season on the road at Lindenwood, picking up a pair of wins (3-0, 7-2). They also added an exhibition win over the US Under-18 Team (6-0). Christian Fitzgerald, Simon Tassy, and Oliver Tulk all lead the Badgers with five points each. Fitzgerald leads with four goals and an assist. He leads the country with two game-winning goals, and has a hat-trick on the season. Gavin Morrissey and Tulk lead Wisconsin with four assists.

Daniel Hauser has been the only goalie to play this season for Wisconsin. In four games and four starts, he has allowed five goals (1.20 GAA) and made 94 saves for a .949 save percentage. His GAA ranks fourth in the nation and second in the B1G.

What's to Come
After this weekend in Madison, the Nanooks will travel to Princeton, N.J. for a matchup with the Princeton Tigers on Oct. 31-Nov. 1. The Nanooks have only faced the Tigers once in program history, coming back in 1985. The Nanooks won both home games and lead the all-time series 2-0-0. Alaska will then complete their road trip with a Tuesday matchup against Quinnipiac on Nov. 4. The 'Nooks knocked off the Bobcats earlier this season at the Icebreaker Tournament.
