FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks rifle team (2-0, 2-0 PRC) made it a weekend sweep of Ohio State (0-2, 0-2 PRC) on Saturday, Oct. 18 at TVSA. They defeated the Buckeyes 4740-4705.
Alaska used strong showings in both smallbore and air rifle to run away with the day two victory. In smallbore, the Nanooks fired a 2357-2338. In air they outshot the Buckeyes 2383-2367. In the individual smallbore standings,
Lucie Kissenberger fired the high score of the day, posting a 594-40x.
Teagan Perkowski and
Noah Meierotto followed in second and third for smallbore, firing a 590-34x and 589-36x, respectively.
Julianna Hays took sixth-overall in the smallbore standings, firing a 584-32x.
Marshall Schmidt and
Tobias Bernhoft-Osa were the final two Nanooks to crack the top 10 in smallbore as Schmidt took eighth with a 583-38x and Bernhoft-Osa took 10th with a 580-25x.
Sadie Palfrey took 12th with a 578-25x to round out the Nanooks in smallbore.Â
In air, the Nanooks took one through five with
Tobias Bernhoft-Osa firing a new career-high 597-53x.
Teagan Perkowski followed in second, shooting a 596-50x. Lucie Kissinberger also fired a 596, taking third with a 596-42x.
Noah Meierotto took fourth in the air rifle standings, she fired a 594-48x.
Marshall Schmidt was the final Nanooks shooter in the top-five, firing a 593-46x.
Sadie Palfrey and
Julianna Hays fired the final air rifle scores for Alaska as Palfrey took 10th with a 587-41x and Hays followed in 11th with a 587-34x.
Lucie Kissenberger grabbed the win in the individual standings, firing an 1190-82x aggregate score.
Teagan Perkowski followed behind in second with an aggregate score of 1186-84x.
Noah Meierotto took third in the individual standings, firing an aggregate score of 1183-84x.
Tobias Bernhoft-Osa shot an 1177-78x, finishing fifth.
Marshall Schmidt followed behind in sixth after his aggregate score of 1176-84x.
Julianna Hays was the final Nanook in the top 10, finishing the day with an aggregate score of 1171-66x.Â
Alaska now hits the road, heading to Colorado next weekend for matchups with Air Force and TCU on Oct. 25-26.
