FAIRBANKS - Head coach Frank Ostanik and the Alaska Nanooks men's basketball program have announced their schedule for the 2024-25 season. The Nanooks will play 13 regular season games at home and travel for the remaining 14 contests.
The regular season kicks off on the road with the Nanooks traveling to Chaminade on Nov. 8, with a tip-off of 6:30 p.m. AKST. They will stay in Hawaii for the next two games, taking on Hawaii Pacific on Nov. 9 and wrapping up their trip with another contest against Chaminade on Nov. 11. The 'Nooks return to Fairbanks for their home opener against Multnomah University on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m., before hosting the Lions for a second game in the Alaska Airlines Gymnasium the following evening. The Blue and Gold continue their homestand the following weekend when they host Northwest Indian College on Nov. 29 and 30.
GNAC play kicks off with a home matchup against Western Oregon on Dec. 5. Their string of home games concludes two days later when Alaska squares off against Saint Martin's, with tip-off set for 3:15 p.m. The Nanooks return to non-conference action on Dec. 20, traveling to the Sunshine State for two games held by Saint Leo University. They open up action in Florida against Palm Beach Atlantic University before facing off against the hosting Lions on the 21st. Start times for the games are 3:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. AKST, respectively. This concludes the 2024 portion of their schedule.
2025 begins with a trip to Western Washington on Jan. 2 to continue GNAC action against the Vikings. The Nanooks stay on the road for one more contest against Simon Fraser on Jan. 4 before returning home to face the Central Washington Wildcats on Thursday, Jan. 9. Alaska will play another game at the Alaska Airlines Gymnasium that Saturday when it faces Northwest Nazarene. The following Saturday, Alaska will visit in-state rival Alaska Anchorage for a showdown against the Seawolves on Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. The Nanooks remain on the road for two more matchups, traveling to Montana State Billings on Jan. 23 to take on the Yellowjackets before heading to Seattle Pacific on Jan. 25 for a matchup against the Falcons. The squad returns to Alaska the next week, hosting Simon Fraser (Jan. 30) and Western Washington (Feb. 1). A pair of road contests follow for the Nanooks as they square off against Northwest Nazarene on Feb. 6 and Central Washington on Feb. 8. After its trip south, Alaska gets a week break, returning to action on Feb. 15 when it hosts Alaska Anchorage at 3 p.m. The following week sees Alaska's final two regular season home games, hosting Seattle Pacific and Montana State Billings on Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 22 at 3:15 p.m., respectively. The Nanooks regular season comes to a close with two road games at Saint Martins (Feb. 27) and Western Oregon (Mar. 1).
