Men’s Basketball Announces Signing of Kellen Jedlicka

FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks men's basketball program has announced its third signing for next season in former Gatorade Alaska Boys Basketball Player of the Year Kellen Jedlicka. Jedlicka is a 6-5 forward from Anchorage, Alaska, and comes to Fairbanks after spending the 2024-25 season at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.

"I have been a fan of Kellen's going back to my days as a high school coach," said head coach Frank Ostanik. "Kellen's skill set, combined with his size and decision-making ability, separates him from other players. He is also a great finisher around the basket, which is a very underrated skill and something we struggled with this past season."

During his first season with the Warriors, Jedlicka saw action in 14 contests, making one start in his freshman campaign. He averaged 2.8 points per game on 41.9% shooting and posted 1.4 rebounds per game. He also tallied four assists, three steals and two blocks. Jedlicka scored a career-high 12 points in a matchup against Corban on Jan. 11, 2025, going 4-6 from the field and 2-2 from beyond the arc to help LC State pick up the 82-55 victory. He did not play in the 2025-26 season.

"Kellen is the second Alaskan with college basketball experience we have added to the roster this spring," said Ostanik. "I expect Kellen to impact winning on and off the court. We are very excited to add another high-character young man to the locker room who can contribute to our program and greater community."

Jedlicka played his high school basketball at Grace Christian High School in Anchorage, where he helped the team claim the 2023 state title. He totaled 1,362 points during his high school career, with over 600 of them coming during his senior season. He averaged 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists in his final year, shooting 63% from the field and 38% from three. As a senior, he was named Peninsula Conference MVP and earned the 2023-24 Gatorade Alaska Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

Additional signings will follow throughout the coming months.
