Hockey Adds Falk Brothers to Class of 2025

FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks hockey team signed a pair of brothers to the class of 2025. Karl and Simon Falk of the Minnesota Magicians will join Payton Matsui, Matt McKim, Connor Mylymok and Nátán Vertes this upcoming season in the blue and gold. 
 
Karl Falk
D | 6'3" 201 lbs | L | Värmdö, Sweden | Minnesota Magicians (NAHL)
Karl Falk, a defenseman hailing from Sweden, will join the Nanooks in 21-22 following his first season in the NAHL with the Minnesota Magicians. In his one year, Falk saw time in 35 games, scoring four goals and tallying 18 assists for a total of 22 points. The Magicians made the NAHL Playoffs and he saw time in nine games where he scored two points, both on assists. He was named the NAHL Midwest Defenseman of the Year as well as being named to the NAHL All-Midwest Division Team. Prior to the Magicians he played two seasons with the Västerås IK J20 in the J20 SuperElit. In 81 games he scored 23 points on nine goals and 14 assists. He wore the captain's 'C' in 2019-20. 
 
Simon Falk
RW | 6'3" 198 lbs | R | Värmdö, Sweden | Minnesota Magicians (NAHL)
Simon Falk, a forward from Sweden, joins the Nanooks and the blue and gold in 21-22 following his lone season in the NAHL alongside his brother. Simon posted 31 points in 37 games while scoring 15 goals and assisting on 16 others. He posted a +7 on his season +/- and maintained his point scoring into the postseason. Falk scored five points in 10 playoff games, scoring one goal and tallying four assists. Before joining the Magicians, Falk also played in the J20 SuperElit with the Västerås IK J20 team and played in 77 games. In his two seasons he scored 41 points on 23 goals and 18 assists. He picked up eight penalty minutes in each of his seasons.
