Box Score FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks hockey team ended the series against Bowling Green with another tie, falling in a shootout and picking up one point on the night. This tie sends the Nanooks to 14-13-5, 12-9-5-2 WCHA.
The Nanooks for a second straight night had to comeback against the Falcons, grabbing two third period goals to pick up a 3-3 tie officially in the WCHA standings. BGSU grabbed the opening goal of the night only 4:24 into the first when Alex Barber picked up his seventh goal of the season. He took a pass from T.J. Lloyd and Sam Craggs and beat Gustavs Grigals. After making it 0-1 early, the Falcons grabbed another goal from Casey Linkenheld, giving the 'Nooks an early 0-2 deficit.
Unfortunately, 9:10 into the second period, the 'Nooks were down 0-3, chasing the biggest deficit of the weekend. T.J. Lloyd found the back of the net, beating
Anton Martinsson, who entered the game for Grigals after he allowed the second goal. The Nanooks accepted the challenge and got on the board in the second when Didrik Henbrant took a pass across the crease from
Caleb Hite and lit the lamp, brining some life back into the Carlson Center.
Only 5:23 into the third period, the Nanooks scored again, pulling within one, when on the power play,
Kylar Hope took a pass from
Chris Jandric and Martinsson, beating Eric Dop for his ninth goal. With less than eight minutes remaining in regulation, the 'Nooks struck again, tying the game and completing the three-goal deficit when
Steven Jandric hit a one-timer through the five-hole of Dop, taking a pass on the left face-off circle from
Jordan Muzzillo and
Markuss Komuls.
After forcing overtime, the Nanooks and Falcons went scoreless through the 5-on-5 and 3-on-3 overtime, entering the first shootout of the Alaska season. It took only three shooters for the Falcons to grab the extra WCHA season. For Alaska

Max Newton all missed after Brandon Kruse nailed the third shootout for the Falcons, giving them the second WCHA point.
The Nanooks enter a bye week before hosting the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves for the final weekend of the regular-season and the final meetings for the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup.
