FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team has announced the signing of guard Siri Lindsey out of Portland, Ore. Lindsey, a 5-3 guard, joins the Nanooks from Lincoln High School.
"We're thrilled to welcome Siri to the Nanook family," said head coach
Michael Ricks. "She's a high-energy guard who plays with toughness, competitiveness, and confidence. Siri has the ability to score the basketball, create pressure defensively, and impact the game with her motor on both ends of the floor. Her energy and intensity are going to be a great addition to our program." Siri was a three-time Portland Interscholastic League selection, posting an Honorable Mention honor as a sophomore, Second Team All-League honor in her junior year and First Team All-League honor as a senior. Additionally, she earned Oregon All-State Honorable Mention honors following her senior season.
As a senior, she averaged 19 points, five rebounds, four steals, and three assists per game while shooting 35.2% from three.
"I am very excited to join the family at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and be a part of such an incredible basketball program," said Lindsey following her commitment. "I'm thankful for the path Jesus has laid out for me, and I can't wait to grow as a player, build lifelong friendships, and create unforgettable memories in Alaska!"
Additional signings will be announced next week.
