Women's Basketball Adds Piece to the Puzzle with Mandi Pham Signing

FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team has announced the addition of Mandi Pham, a 5-9 guard from Seattle, Wash. Pham, an incoming redshirt-junior, joins the 'Nooks after spending last season with William Jewell College in the GLVC.

"We're very excited about adding Mandi to our roster," said head coach Michael Ricks. "She's a dynamic guard who can shoot it, make plays, and compete on both ends of the floor. Just as importantly, she's an outstanding person and teammate, and we're excited to welcome her to Nanook Nation." During her redshirt-sophomore season at William Jewell, she played in 22 games and shot 39% from three. She recorded a season-high nine points and three steals at Southwest Baptist on Feb. 7, 2026 while picking up a season-high six rebounds on Feb. 14, 2026 against Missouri S&T. Prior to joining the Cardinals, she spent two seasons with Illinois Springfield. In two seasons, she appeared in 20 games while shooting 45% from the floor and just under 43% from three.

She was a two-time Academic All-GLVC selection and a two-time GLVC Distinguished Scholar while at Illinois Springfield and William Jewell. Before college, she spent time at both Mt. Rainier High School and Decatur High School. In 2019-20, she was named the Mt. Rainier Offensive Player of the Year while also earning NPSL Second Team All-League honors. After joining Decatur, she was named the 2022-23 Decatur High School Offensive Player of the Year, alongside an NPSL First Team All-League nod and 2023 AMAZN HQ All-Star selection. In addition to her high school success, Pham is a member of the Vietnam Women's National Team.

During her senior season at Decatur, she averaged 15.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 assists per game.

"I have loved every stop in my hoop journey, but now it really feels like home in Fairbanks," said Mandi Pham after her signing. "I'm super excited and grateful to be a part of this program and community!"

Additional signings will be released in the coming weeks.
