MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – The Nanooks are back in action this week as they compete against the rest of their conference in the PCSC Championships. The four-day meet will run from Wednesday, Feb. 11, to Saturday, Feb. 14, at the ELAC Pool in Monterey Park, Calif.

The Nanooks concluded their dual meet schedule on Jan. 16-17 when they hosted Westmont for two dual meets at the Patty Center Pool. The 'Nooks grabbed the 100-86 on day one, but fell 95-91 on day two. Ali Pecore tallied four individual wins over the two meets, placing first in the 50 (24.58) and 100-yard freestyle (54.23) on day one, and picking up two victories in those same events the next day with a 24.92 in the 50 freestyle and 54.40 in the 100 freestyle.

- McKenzie Fazio has recorded the fifth-best time in the PCSC in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming to a 51.96 at the UNLV Invite, and her 1:53.68 in the 200-yard freestyle set at the NW Collegiate Invite ties her for seventh in the conference. She also ranks eighth in the 50-yard backstroke (26.78) and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (57.23).
- Kitti Marton is among the conference leaders in the 1000 and 1650-yard freestyle, with the freshman ranking fourth in the 1000 (10:38.35) and third in the mile (17:46.40).
- Cosima Schmiedel sits eighth in conference in the 50-yard butterfly, setting a 26.64 at the UNLV Invite. She has the fourth-best conference time in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:06.77 and ranks seventh in the 400-yard IM with a 4:32.46.
- Dorka Dancsok ranks in the top three in five different events, sitting third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.07) and 400-yard IM (4:24.90), second in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.16) and 200-yard IM (2:04.02), and leading the conference in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.81. Her times in the 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard IM and 400-yard IM are all good for NCAA B Cuts. She also ranks 37th in NCAA DII in the 200-yard breaststroke, 23rd in the 200-yard IM and 13th in the 400-yard IM.
- The Nanooks placed fifth in last year's conference championships, collecting 909.5 points.
What's to Come
Following the conclusion of the PCSC Championships, the Nanooks will await the selections for the NCAA Championships to see if anyone qualifies. The championships will be held on Mar. 11-14, in Evansville, Ind.
