FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks and Director of Athletics, Brock Anundson, have named Riley Ceglowski as the next head coach of the Alaska Nanooks swim team.
"I am incredibly honored to lead the Alaska Nanooks swim team and to build upon the strong foundation already in place," said Ceglowski after her hiring. "My goal is to foster a culture of excellence, both in the pool and in the classroom, that will challenge our student-athletes to redefine their limits. My hope is that each Nanook swimmer graduates having reached their full potential as a student-athlete, while contributing to the legacy of the program. Go Nanooks!"
Ceglowski comes to Fairbanks after spending over a year as the aquatics coordinator for the City of Fruita in Colorado. There, Ceglowski planned, coordinated, and scheduled swim lessons, water aerobics, and other aquatic programs and special events. Additionally, she ensured the safety of community members through water safety regulations.
This is the third head coaching position Ceglowski will hold at the college level. Prior to Alaska, she served as the head coach of Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Fla., from May 2021 to August 2022. There, she headed all duties involved in the operations of the program. She recruited and supervised all assistant coaches while covering team itinerary, accommodation, and designing in-season and out-of-season training. Before taking the Ave Maria position, Ceglowski spent three years coaching Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. From 2018-20, she served as the assistant men's and women's swim coach before becoming the head coach of both the men's and women's programs from 2020-21.
As the head coach at Adams State, she managed scholarship funds, team fundraising, and corporate partnerships while also producing the highest conference finish and scoring in the men's program history.
Ceglowski has also spent time as a resident relations coordinator in Boulder, Colo. at The Academy Boulder, and a swim coach at Classic Running, implementing individualized swim workouts for triathletes participating in events throughout the country.
"We're excited to welcome Riley Ceglowski as the next head coach of our Alaska Nanooks women's swimming program," said Brock Anundson. "Riley brings a strong background with NCAA swimmers, both as a student-athlete and a coach, along with a clear passion for student-athlete development. She joins a program that saw impressive success in the pool this past year, and her energy, experience, and leadership will help build on that momentum and take Alaska swimming to the next level."
Ceglowski was a member of the swim team at Adams State, where she graduated from in June 2018 with a Bachelor of Science, Physical Geography & Earth Science. In August 2024, she earned her Master of Science in Nutrition & Human Performance from Logan University.
Her first official day with the Alaska Nanooks will be July 1, 2026.
