Women’s Basketball Lands Jazlynn Novelli From Cal Maritime

FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks women's basketball program has announced another signing in Jazlynn Novelli, a 5-9 guard out of Cal Maritime in Vallejo, Calif.

"We're thrilled to welcome Jazlynn to the Nanook family," said head coach Michael Ricks. "She's a dynamic guard with scoring firepower who brings relentless energy and efficient shooting. Her versatility, competitive drive and proven ability to make big plays will elevate our backcourt and ignite our team."

Novelli spent the previous season with the Keelhaulers, averaging 14.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 45.1% from the field and 33.3% from three. Despite only playing 10 games, she made her time on the court count, posting double-digit points in eight contests during the 2024-25 season. She cracked the 20-point mark twice, including scoring a season-high 29 points in an 84-78 win over Lincoln (CA) on Nov. 20. Novelli went 11-18 in the contest, knocking down five of her nine attempts from beyond the arc and converting both of her free throw attempts. She also grabbed eight boards in the game. The performance earned her Cal Pac Offensive Player of the Week honors.

"I'm beyond grateful and excited to continue my hoop journey at UAF," said Novelli on her signing with the Nanooks. "I can't wait to represent this program, my home state, and grow as a player!"

Novelli is the 10th addition to the roster this summer.
