FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks women's basketball program has announced another addition to the squad in 5-5 guard Tamai Mancuso out of Central State University.
"We're excited to welcome Tamai to the Nanook family," said head coach Michael Ricks. "A relentless, high-motor guard, she brings elite scoring ability and plays with a toughness and energy that will ignite our backcourt. Her offensive firepower and championship mindset will make Tamai a game-changer in our system."
Mancuso spent last season with the Central State Marauders in Wilberforce, Ohio. She averaged 3.1 points per game on 30.9% shooting while collecting 16 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two blocks. She reached double-digit scoring twice during the 2024-25 season, posting a season-high 11 in a game against Wilberforce (OH). In the game, she went 5-of-13 from the field and grabbed four boards. Prior to her season with the Marauders, Mancuso played two seasons at American River College in Sacramento, Calif., where she averaged 21.7 points on 39.2% shooting. She also posted 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.4 steals per game with the Beavers.
"I'm super grateful and excited to play my last year of college basketball here at UAF," said Mancuso. "I'm ready to get to work, grow with my teammates, and make this season unforgettable. Go 'Nooks!"
Mancuso is the seventh Nanooks signing announced this summer. Additional signings will follow shortly.
