Nanooks Swim Announces 2025-26 Schedule

FAIRBANKS – Head coach Ksenia Gromova and the Alaska Nanooks swimming team have released their 2025-26 schedule. The season includes six regular season meets at the Patty Center Pool and 13 away from home, including the PCSC Championships on Feb. 11-14.

"This season, we're introducing a new swim meet setup that we haven't done in the past," said Gromova. "One of the invitationals on our schedule is known for being a highly competitive, fast-paced meet, and I'm very excited to see our athletes rise to the challenge against strong Division I programs. Competing at this level will push them to elevate their performance and increase their chances of qualifying for the NCAA Championships."

The 'Nooks kick off 2025-26 with their Blue/Gold Intrasquad meet at the Patty Center Pool on Sept. 19-20. The regular season begins on Oct. 3 with a trip to Fresno Pacific for two PCSC dual meets during the first weekend of October, where the Nanooks look to continue their success against the Sunbirds after winning both dual meets last season. The Blue & Gold return home for four dual meets over two weekends, hosting Puget Sound on Oct. 24-25 and Simon Fraser on Oct. 31-Nov. 1. On Oct. 24 vs. Puget Sound, the Nanooks will hold a bucket hat giveaway, where fans will receive a free Alaska Nanooks bucket hat.

The first invitational of the season takes place on Nov. 21-23 with the Vandal Invite, hosted by the University of Idaho in Boise, Idaho. Alaska ends the 2025 portion of its schedule in Las Vegas, Nev., for the UNLV Invite on Dec. 15-17.

After the new year, the 'Nooks remain on the road for a meet on Jan. 10, competing against the University of Hawaii and Whitman College at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex in Honolulu, Hawaii. The squad returns to the Patty Center Pool for two more dual meets on Jan. 16-17, facing the Westmont College Warriors and gearing up for the PCSC Championships the following month. The team will hold its Senior Day on the final home meet of the season against the Warriors, where they will recognize their class of 2026.

"We're also hosting a more diverse set of teams for dual meets this season, which brings a fresh and exciting dynamic to our schedule," added Gromova. "Facing a variety of opponents across different competitive levels provides valuable experience and helps our athletes become more well-rounded and prepared to perform at their highest potential at the end of the season."

The conference championships will be held at the ELAC Pool in Monterey Park, Calif., from Wednesday, Feb. 11 to Saturday, Feb. 14. The Nanooks look to continue their climb up the PCSC ranks after their fifth-place, 909.5-point finish at the previous conference meet, their best finish since the 2013-14 season and their third-straight year of improved points totals at the PCSC Championships.

The NCAA Championships take place from Wednesday, Mar. 11, to Saturday, Mar. 14, at the USI Wellness Center in Evansville, Ind.
