FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball program has announced the signing of Alycia Shelley. Shelley, a 5-4 guard, is set to join the Nanooks as a freshman after graduating from Colony High School in Palmer, Alaska.

"We're thrilled to welcome Ally to the Nanook family," said head coach Michael Ricks. "She's a tough, versatile player who will bring energy on both ends of the floor. As the first player to commit after I was hired, she's helped kick off an exciting new chapter for our program. Coming off a state championship at Colony High School, she knows what it takes to win and will be a great fit for our style of play."

Shelley averaged 6.5 points per game during her time at Colony High School. She shot 61.4% from two, 26.6% from beyond the arc and 66.7% from the line. During her senior season with the Knights, she tallied 44 rebounds, dished 63 assists, swiped 50 steals and collected 47 deflections.

Shelley is from Wasilla, Alaska, and is the first signing announced for the 2025-26 season. Additional signings will be announced shortly.
