Destiny Reimers Named GNAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Honorable Mention

PORTLAND, Ore. - Alaska women's basketball's Destiny Reimers wrapped up her career as a Nanook with a selection to the GNAC's All-Conference team as an Honorable Mention, the conference announced on Tuesday. This marks the first career All-Conference honor for the senior guard out of Anchorage.

"We're so proud of Destiny's selection to the All-GNAC team," said head coach Amy Donovan. "She's a perfect example of what it means to be a student-athlete. Not many players score 1000 points and collect 500 rebounds in their basketball careers. I'm happy to see her hard work and dedication be recognized by the other coaches in the GNAC."

Reimers was a staple in the Alaska women's basketball team in her final season, leading the team in multiple categories while starting in 25 of Alaska's 26 games. She ended her senior season posting 14 points per game on 40% shooting; those marks were good for ninth and eighth in the GNAC in 2024-25. Her 6.38 rebounds per game led the squad, while her 5.1 defensive rebounds per game put her fourth in the conference. She finished her senior campaign ranking second on the team in assists (64), steals (47) and blocks (16).

She set a career-high in single-game points and blocks in an 88-82 win over Seattle Pacific on Jan. 25, posting 28 and four. She followed that up with a 26-point performance against Northwest Nazarene five days later. She scored 20+ points on two more occasions during the season, reaching the mark against Simon Fraser (24 pts, Feb. 13) and Cal Poly Humboldt (20 pts, Nov. 8). Reimers logged five double-doubles and cracked 10+ points in 21 out of 26 contests.

Central Washington's Sunny Huerta took home GNAC Player of the Year, while Alaska Anchorage's Emilia Long grabbed GNAC Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year honors. Saint Martin's' Jada Travis earned GNAC Freshman of the Year and Alaska Anchorage's Ryan McCarthy won Coach of the Year.
