Nanooks Road Trip to West Point for Matchups with Army and Navy

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Nanooks rifle team will face both Army and Navy this weekend at West Point. They'll face just Army on Saturday before facing both on Sunday. This weekend will end the Nanooks' first semester match schedule.

The Nanooks are coming off of a two week off period after shooting at Ole Miss and UT Martin on Nov. 8-9. On Nov. 8 they defeated Ole Miss 4716-4709 in Oxford, Miss. before taking down UT Martin the following day in Tennessee. They defeated the Skyhawks 4714-4627. Alaska currently sits at 4-0, 3-0 PRC in head-to-head results. They placed third out of five teams on Oct. 25-26 against Air Force, Georgia Southern, Schreiners, and TCU.

  • The Nanooks are led by a pair of sophomore in the season aggregate average. Lucie Kissenberger and Teagan Perkowski are currently pacing the Nanooks with averages of 1180.167.

What's to Come
The Nanooks wrap up their 2025 portion of the schedule this weekend. They will open up 2026 at home on Jan. 17-18 as they welcome Kentucky and Nebraska to the E.F. Horton Rifle Range and TVSA. The Nanooks will then welcome TCU and UT Martin to Fairbanks the following week before entering postseason play in Oxford, Miss. with the PRC Championships on Feb. 7-8. Alaska will then host their NCAA Qualifier against UTEP on Feb. 21.

Army (3-5, 0-2 GARC)
Head Coach: Leighton Dempster
Chris Jennings leads Army this year with an aggregate average of 1175. Jennings leads the way in smallbore with an average of 582.833 and air rifle with an average of 592.167. Army shot last weekend at Memphis and fell to the Tigers 4732-4647. This season, they are averaging an aggregate score of 4676.33. In smallbore they are averaging a 2324.5 and in air they are averaging a 2351.83. 

Navy (5-2, 1-1 GARC)
Head Coach: Mike Anti
Navy is led by Tyler Wee and Parker Haydin. Wee leads the Midshipmen with an aggregate average of 1187.75 while Haydin follows with an aggregate average of 1185.50. Isabella Baldwin is the last Navy shooter with an aggregate average over 1180 with an 1181 average. Wee leads in both air rifle and smallbore as well. In smallbore, Wee is shooting an average of 589.25 and in air an average of 598.5. Navy shot against Akron last week and won 4739-4691 for their first GARC victory of the year.
