COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Nanooks rifle team is just a day away from competing for the 2026 NCAA Rifle National Championship at the Covelli Center on the Ohio State campus. This is set to be the Nanooks 39th NCAA appearance in program history.

Last Time Out
Alaska last shot in competition on Feb. 21 against UTEP in their NCAA Qualifier. The Nanooks defeated the Miners 4735-4710. Alaska claimed the top five spots in the qualifier with Amanda Pettersen taking first with an 1187-78x. Marshall Schmidt followed in second with an 1184-91x. Lucie Kissenberger took third and matched Schmidt's score of 1184-91x. Teagan Perkowski took fourth with an 1183-90x, and Noah Meierotto took fifth with an 1183-81x. Sadie Palfrey took eighth with an 1177-83x and Matthew Stout rounded out the top 10 appearances for the 'Nooks with an 1175-75x.

• Lucie Kissenberger leads the Nanooks into NCAA's with an aggregate average of 1182.572. She has posted a team-leading average smallbore score of 587.429 and an air rifle average of 595.143.
• Teagan Perkowski follows in second for the Nanooks in the individual aggregate average. The sophomore joins Kissenberger with over an 1180 average, posting an average of 1181.357. He holds a smallbore average of 585.5 and a team-high 595.857 air rifle average. 
• Marshall Schmidt is third on the team in aggregate average, shooting an 1178.714. Schmidt holds a smallbore average of 584.714 and an air rifle average of 594. 
• Noah Meierotto joins Schmidt as a freshman at NCAA's and has an aggregate average of 1177.857. She has a smallbore average of 583.071 and air rifle average of 594.786. 
• The final shooter for the Nanooks is Tobias Bernhoft-Osa. He has a season average of 1173.285 with a smallbore average of 578.214 and air rifle average of 595.071. 
• The Nanooks have a team aggregate average score of 4725.857. This season, the Nanooks top scores are 4747, 4740, and 4735. They all came in Fairbanks with two coming on campus at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range and their 4740 coming at TVSA. 
• Their three scores for qualifying was 4747 (E.F. Horton), 4740 (TVSA), 4724 (Army) and their 4735 NCAA Qualifier for a total qualifying score of 9472.
