FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks rifle team shot in their final home match of the season on Saturday, welcoming UTEP to the E.F. Horton Rifle Range for their NCAA Qualifier and celebrating seniors Tobias Bernhoft-Osa and Julianna Hays in their senior day match. The Nanooks fired a 4735 aggregate score to defeat the Miners, who posted a 4710 aggregate. Both sides fired identical air rifle scores of 2384, but the Nanooks made the difference in smallbore, posting a 2351 to UTEP's 2326.

The Nanooks held the top-five individual aggregate scores in the match, as Amanda Pettersen led the way with an 1187-78x. Marshall Schmidt and Lucie Kissenberger both fired identical scores of 1184-91x, while Teagan Perkowski (1184-90x) and Noah Meierotto (1183-81x) rounded out the top five. Sadie Palfrey finished eighth in aggregate with an 1177-83x, and Matthew Stout placed 10th with an 1175-75x.

The Nanooks locked out the top five in smallbore, with Pettersen taking the top spot in the discipline after firing a 591-28x. Kissenberger followed in second with a 588-38x, while Perkowski and Meierotto placed third and fourth with scores of 588-36x and 588-29x, respectively.  Schmidt shot a 587-39 to place fifth. Matthew Stout (eighth, 584-27x), Hays (ninth, 582-31x), Palfrey (10th, 581-30x) and Bernhoft-Osa (12th, 578-29x) concluded the list for the Nanooks in the discipline.

Schmidt was the highest finisher in air rifle for the Nanooks, placing second after firing a 597-52x, and Perkowski posted a 596-54x to take third. Palfrey and Kissenberger followed in fourth and fifth, both posting scores of 596-53x, and Pettersen grabbed sixth with a 596-50x. Meierotto (ninth, 595-52x), Bernhoft-Osa (11th, 594-45x), Stout (13th, 591-48x) and Hays (15th, 590-40x) rounded things out for the 'Nooks.
