COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Nanooks rifle team wrapped up 2025-26 at the NCAA Rifle Championships, hosted by Ohio State. Friday saw them compete in the smallbore discipline, and Saturday saw them compete in air rifle.
Alaska placed eighth in smallbore, sixth in air rifle, and eighth in the final aggregate standings. West Virginia won this year's national championship with an aggregate score of 4748. TCU placed second with a 4741, and Ole Miss rounded out the podium in third with a 4738.

Day One Recap - Smallbore
On day one, all eight teams and the qualifying individuals shot in smallbore. Alaska posted a discipline score of 2334 to take eighth.
Lucie Kissenberger led the way for the Nanooks with a 588-37x. She placed 15th in the individual smallbore standings. Following behind was
Teagan Perkowski, the fellow sophomore. Perkowski shot a 583-29x and placed 30th.
Noah Meierotto posted a 582-27x as the freshman made her first-ever NCAA appearance with the Nanooks; she finished 33rd. Fellow freshman
Marshall Schmidt was the final counting scorer for the Nanooks in smallbore. He shot a 581-26x and placed 35th to round out the 2334 score for Alaska.
Ole Miss won the smallbore national championship with a score of 2356-142x. TCU followed in second with a 2354-147x, and Nebraska took third with a 2354-128x. West Virginia placed fourth with a 2353-144x, and Kentucky was in fifth with a 2353-131x. Navy and Georgia Southern took sixth and seventh ahead of the Nanooks, shooting scores of 2346-126x and 2338-118x, respectively.

Day Two Recap - Air Rifle
On Saturday, all teams and qualifying individuals competed in the air rifle discipline.
Lucie Kissenberger led the way again for the Nanooks posting a 598-47x. She finished 11th in the individual air rifle standings to just miss out on the individual finals. She wrapped up the NCAA Championships with the Nanooks' top aggregate score of 1186-84x.
Noah Meierotto was close behind Kissenberger, taking 13th in the air rifle standings with a 597-53x. The freshman completed her first NCAA Championships with an aggregate score of 1179-80x.
Teagan Perkowski posted the third score for the Nanooks in air rifle, firing a 593-46x, good for 33rd in the air rifle individual standings. Perkowski finished the weekend with an 1176-75x aggregate score. The final Nanooks shooter to score in air rifle was
Tobias Bernhoft-Osa. Bernhoft-Osa posted a 592-44x to wrap up the NCAA Championships with an aggregate of 1162-64x.
In air rifle, West Virginia won the title with a discipline score of 2395-211x. TCU followed in second with a 2387-207x. Kentucky rounded out the air rifle podium with a third-place finish and score of 2383-197x. Ole Miss and Nebraska both posted a 2382 but Ole Miss placed higher on total x count. Alaska placed sixth in air rifle with a 2380-190x. Georgia Southern placed seventh with a 2379-202x and Navy took eighth with a 2376-184x.
