FAIRBANKS - Patriot Rifle Conference Commissioner and Alaska Nanooks rifle head coach
Will Anti announced the PRC's newest conference member, the Ole Miss Rebels.
Ole Miss joins the PRC after spending years in the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC).Â
"We are fortunate to have a team of Ole Miss' pedigree and status in collegiate athletics and rifle joining the Patriot Rifle Conference," said Anti, "Ole Miss is a powerful school with a wide-reaching brand and fan base. Ole Miss has been a national contender for the last four seasons, placing in the top-three during the 2020-21 season."Â
The PRC officially met on Friday, Aug. 9, and came to a unanimous 6-0 decision in favor of immediately adding the University of Mississippi for the beginning of the upcoming 2024-25 season. "Ole Miss' desire to join the PRC is a great example of this conference strengthening. PRC teams have claimed the last two national titles. In the previous season, the PRC had the highest number of All-Americans of any conference, placed more student-athletes into the NCAA Individual Finals, and made up 2/3 of the National Championship podium. As the landscape of the NCAA changes, the PRC continues to adapt, grow, and find ways to bolster the teams within the conference. Welcome Ole Miss, Hotty Toddy!"Â
