FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Nanooks rifle team took third at the 2024 Patriot Rifle Conference Championships at The X Count. Alaska fired a 2348 on day one in the smallbore discipline before firing a 2379 in air rifle this morning. 

Alaska had two top-10 finishes in the overall standings. Rachael Charles finished with the win in the individual standings, posting a PRC Championship high score of 1189. Akihito Shimizu joined Charles in the top-10 with a sixth-place finish and aggregate score of 1183. Elli Spencer finished with an aggregate score of 1179, Marina Gonzalez Mazo finished with an 1175 aggregate score, Sára Karasová fired an 1171 and Matthew Stout shot an 1157.

On day two, the Nanooks had three finish in the air rifle top-10 individual standings. Charles led the way with a sixth-place finish and score of 597. Shimizu followed right behind with a 596 and a seventh-place finish. Elli Spencer was the final Nanooks shooter in the top-10, taking 10th-place with a 596. Marina Gonzalez Mazo was the final counting scorer for the Nanooks, posting a 590 to round out the 'Nooks counters. Matthew Stout finished 28th with a 588 and Karasová took 29th with a 587. 

Charles, Shimizu and Spencer all made it to the finals for individual air rifle.
