Last Time Out
The Nanooks are coming off of a tough weekend at home on Feb. 15-17 as they fell to the Central Washington Wildcats and the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks. On Feb. 15, CWU grabbed a 78-61 victory in Fairbanks and on Feb. 17, the Nighthawks of NNU grabbed a 74-69 win. Alaska made a heroic comeback in the NNU game but fell by five.
Western Oregon - Canceled
Thursday's Alaska Nanooks women's basketball game at Western Oregon has been canceled due to the home team forfeiting the contest.
No additional details were provided. Per GNAC policy, the Nanooks will receive a win towards the conference standings once the game is officially called a forfeit on Thursday evening.

- Emma McKenney, Kayla Johnson and Destiny Reimers are all leading the way in scoring for the Nanooks with 10.7, 10.6 and 10.4 points per game, respectively.
- Johnson leads the way in field goal percentage with 45.4%. McKenney leads from beyond the arc with a 32.7% three-point clip.
- McKenney and Reimers lead the way in assists with 73 and 61.
- Emma Wass has been a strong presence down low both in scoring and on the boards. She is averaging 9.0 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
- She currently leads the Nanooks in rebounds/game and total rebounds with 215. That total is fourth in the GNAC and 47th in the nation. Her 7.3 defensive rebounds per game is second in the conference and 13th in the nation too.
- Ellen Silva follows with 7.9 points and rebounds per game, grabbing the second-most rebounds on the team with 190. She's added a team-high 62 offensive boards.
- She is the only Nanooks player with double-digit blocks, posting 23 through 24 games. Her 0.96 blocks per game is seventh in the conference.
- The Nanooks defeated the SMU Saints earlier this season, 71-62. With the win, the 'Nooks snapped a nine-game losing streak to Saint Martin's.

Regional/National Rankings
In the final publicized D2CSC West Region Top-10 Poll, the GNAC had four teams selected. Montana State Billings led the way, coming in at No. 2 with 45 points. Western Washington followed at No. 3, receiving 40 votes. Central Washington was the lone-GNAC team to move up in the polls, moving from No. 10 to No. 9 this week, receiving 14 points. Alaska Anchorage fell from No. 8 to No. 10, receiving five votes. In the D2CSC National Polls, MSUB checked in at No. 15 with 165 points, moving up two spots after being T-No. 17 a week ago. WWU moved up a pair of spots as well, going from No. 22 to No. 20 with 87 points.
In the Feb. 20 WBCA Coaches Top-25 Poll, MSUB earned 328 points, being voted No. 11 in the country. Western Washington followed behind in No. 13 with 289 points.

Looking Ahead
Following this weekend's game at Saint Martin's, the Nanooks will return home to wrap-up their regular-season. Feb. 29 will see the Nanooks face the nationally-ranked MSUB Yellow Jackets. That game, scheduled for a 5:15 p.m. tip, is their annual Pink Game and will feature a pink rally towel giveaway to the first 100 fans in the building. On March 2, the Nanooks will celebrate Senior Day at 3:00 p.m. against Seattle Pacific.
