PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced it's 2023-24 GNAC Men's Basketball Academic All-Conference Team, presented by Barnes & Noble College on Wednesday, Feb. 14. 

Three Nanooks student-athletes earned the award on Wednesday, all earning it for the first time in their Nanooks career. 

Nick Hopkins, Paul Johnson and Ketan Sidhu earned the Academic All-Conference award. To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic Teams, nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 or greater on a 4.00 scale, be on the team roster for the full season and must be in their second year at the nominating institution.

Nick Hopkins, the senior of the group, earned the honor with a 3.42 GPA while studying sport & recreation business. The Renton, Wash.-native is averaging 7.2 points, 6.3 rebounds per game. Alongside his averages, Hopkins has added 27 assists, 10 steals and eight blocks. Johnson, a junior from Seattle, Wash. earned his first honor with a 3.35 GPA while studying business administration. This season Johnson is averaging 5.5 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. He has made a team-high 18 three-pointers while dishing out 14 assists and picking up six steals. 

The final Nanook named to the team is Ketan Sidhu. Sidhu, an Issaquah, Wash.-native has posted a 3.42 in his studies at UAF while studying business administration. Sidhu has appeared in 12 career games with Alaska, averaging 1.4 points per game. He's added three assists and tow steals.
