FAIRBANKS - Charlotte Fletcher-Stables of the Alaska Nanooks swim team was named Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference's (PCSC) Female Swimmer of the Week after her showing in Alaska's dual meets against San Diego State last weekend. This is the first PCSC weekly award of her career.
Fletcher-Stables impressed at Alaska's first dual meets of the season, competing in eight events over the two days for the Nanooks. On the first day against SDSU, she led her team to the best finish among PCSC teams in the 400-yard Medley relay with a time of 3:39.53, splitting 59.15 in the 100-yard backstroke. Her times of 59.18 and 2:11.73 in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke placed her fourth and sixth in the PCSC rankings, respectively.
On day two, she closed out the meet by leading her team to a third-place ranking in the 200-yard Medley relay among PCSC teams with a time of 1:49:28, splitting 27.50 in 50-yard backstroke.
Fletcher-Stables and the Nanooks are back in action November 1-2 when they host fellow PCSC team Fresno Pacific in Fairbanks for another double dual meet.
