Last Time Out
The Nanooks are coming off of their second two-win week of the season. They picked up their first win of the GNAC-season with a 71-62 victory over the Saint Martin's Saints.
Emma McKenney led the way with 20 points on 6-14 shooting, adding three three-pointers, two rebounds and two assists.
Kayla Johnson and
Emma Wass both ended the night with a double-double as Johnson posted a 16-point, 10-rebound performance and Wass went for 11 points and 15 rebounds.Â
On Saturday, Jan. 27, the 'Nooks picked up an overtime win over Western Oregon for their second GNAC win of the season.
Kayla Johnson posted 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in the win.
Destiny Reimers had 17 points and five boards,
Emma McKenney added 14 and
Ellen Silva had a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Emma Wass added a 13-rebound performance in the win.Â

- Western Washington has been a tough matchup for the Nanooks as they are currently 0-10 in their last 10 matchups. The last matchup saw WWU win in Fairbanks, 86-45.
- Simon Fraser has also been a tough one for the Nanooks. The Nanooks last and only win against SFU came on Feb. 22, 2022 at home, an 80-78 victory.Â
National Rankings
The Nanooks have three players ranking in the top-100 in different categories.
Emma McKenney ranks in the top-100 for one category, free-throw percentage. She is currently shooting 83.1% from the line, good for 74th in the NCAA DII and fifth in the GNAC.
Ellen Silva is currently ranked in the top-100 in three categories; total blocks, total rebounds and rebounds per game. Her 21 blocks is fifth in the conference and 93rd in the nation. Her 152 rebounds is fifth in the GNAC and 83rd in the nation, and her 8.0 rebounds per game is fifth in the GNAC and 93rd in the country.Â
Emma Wass is the final Nanooks athlete appearing in the top-100 for individual stats. She is currently second in the GNAC and 23rd in the nation with her 187 total rebounds. Her 8.1 defensive rebounds per game is good for sixth in the nation and first in the GNAC and her 9.8 rebounds per game is first in the GNAC and 25th in NCAA DII.Â
As a team, the Nanooks are one of the nation's best rebounding groups. They currently lead the GNAC in defensive rebounds per game, grabbing 29.7. This also ranks them 15th in the nation. Their 41.00 total rebounds per game also ranks them top in the GNAC and puts them 46th in the NCAA Division II.
