FAIRBANKS - Freshman standout,
Dorka Dancsok, won her fourth PCSC weekly award yesterday. She was awarded her third PCSC Female Freshman of the Week honor, being named alongside CSUEB's Reese Veron.
Dancsok had another strong week for the Nanooks and in their pair of dual meets against Westmont College. The team traveled back to Fairbanks after a quad meet and dual meet at San Diego State and did not get back to Fairbanks until Thursday night, resulting in one day of rest before their weekend meets. This did not stop Dancsok from shining in the home pool. On day one, she helped the 400-yard medley relay and freestyle relay to first-place finishes. She posted a time of 1:05.63 in her breaststroke in the medley relay and a time fo 54.36 in her leg of the freestyle relay.Â
She added a pair of individual first-place finishes on day one as well, winning the 200-yard IM and 100-yard breaststroke. In the IM she posted a winning time of 2:08.56 and in the breaststroke, she posted a winning time of 1:07.31. These wins helped Alaska beat Westmont 103.5-101.5 for their first win of the season.
Day two saw the same impact from Dancsok as she helped both relays grab first-place finishes. In the 200-yard medley she posted a 50-yard breaststroke time of 30.38. In the 200-yard freestyle relay she posted a 50-yard time of 24.64. She grabbed another pair of individual victories in the 200 and 100-yard freestyle. She won the 200 with a time of 2:00.82 and in the 100 she won with a time of 55.68. On day two, the Nanooks grabbed another victory as a team, beating Westmont 105-100.
