Food Truck Rally Announced for Final Day of Denali State Bank Ice Block Classic

Up to a dozen food trucks will be at the Patty Center on Sept. 9 from 12:00 p.m. until the final game starting at 7:30 p.m.

FAIRBANKS - The upcoming Nanooks volleyball Denali State Bank Ice Block Classic got sweeter for fans by adding a local food truck rally to the event on Sept. 9, 2023.

The Nanook's food truck rally will open during the final day of the Ice Block Classic on Sept. 9. The rally will include up to a dozen local food trucks. The food trucks will be in the Patty Center parking lot with food from outside allowed in the Alaska Airlines gymnasium. Fans in attendance who buy food will not be required to buy a ticket with proof of food purchase from the vendors. 

The food truck rally will begin in the Patty Center parking lot at 12:00 p.m. (noon) and will carry on through the day until the 7:30 p.m. game on Saturday night. The Nanooks will have two separate volleyball matches on Sept. 9; the first will open at 1:00 pm against Lander University and the second match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. versus Stanislaus State. Two other games are scheduled for Sept. 9 as UAA will take on Stanislaus State at 10:00 a.m. and UAA and Biola meet in the 4:00 p.m. time slot. 

The Denali State Bank Ice Block Classic will begin on Thursday morning, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. with a match between Biola and Lander. The Nanooks' first match of the Ice Block Classic will start at 7:30 p.m. on the 7th. The match will open GNAC play against the rival Seawolves from UAA.
