Led by Reimers' 4.00, Six Nanooks Named to GNAC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team

FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team had six representatives selected to the GNAC 2021-22 Women's Basketball All-Academic Team presented by Barnes & Noble College.
 
Of the six, three were named for the second time in their careers at Alaska. 
 
First on the list for the Nanooks is freshman guard Pearle Green. Green, who hails from Galena, Alaska, is in her freshman year athletically and is leading the 'Nooks in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game. The freshman is working towards a degree in Social Work and has maintained a 3.56 GPA at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Olivia Kraska was named to the GNAC All-Academic Team for the second-time in her career. The 2020-21 honoree is studying Psychology and has maintained a 3.80 while wearing the blue and gold of her hometown team. 
 
Kraska, a Fairbanks native, is averaging a second-best 5.6 rebounds per game. She's also adding 4.8 points per game while shooting 41.6% from the floor. Zosha Krupa, a senior from Sitka, Alaska, also earned her second All-Academic honor as the Communications major and has earned a 3.72 GPA in her three years at UAF. As a Nanook, Krupa is scoring 2.7 points per game and grabbing 2.7 rebounds per game in 2021-22. 
 
Caitlin Pusich is the third Nanook to earn her second All-Academic honor, as the sophomore forward from Juneau, Alaska has earned a 3.68 GPA in her pursuit of a Communications degree. She is averaging 3.1 points per game and 2.2 rebounds per game while shooting 83.3% from the free-throw line in 2021-22. Destiny Reimers was one of three in the GNAC to make the All-Academic Team with a 4.00 GPA. The freshman from Anchorage, Alaska has been a staple in the classroom and on the court as she works towards a Rural Development degree. On the court, Reimers is the Nanooks second leading scorer with 11.9 per game. She is the team-leader in rebounds, grabbing 6.6 per game and adding 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game. 
 
Finally, Sam Tolliver was named to the GNAC All-Academic Team for the first time in her career as the sophomore guard has maintained a 3.37 GPA in her Communications studies. The sophomore, through her career as a Nanook, has averaged 13.5 points per game, 2.9 rebounds and has a total of 35 steals and 19 blocks.
 
The Nanooks are off through the week before welcoming the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the Alaska Airlines Gymnasium at the Patty Center.
