LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Nanooks swim team is competing at the La Verne Invitational at the ELAC Pool in Los Angeles, Calif. After day one, they're in ninth-place with 73 points.
In the first event, the Nanooks team took 15th-place in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team was made up of
Adeline Berry,
Lainey Lioi,
Shannon McCallum and
Sophia Ruppert. They finished 15th with a finals time of 1:41.25. The other Nanooks team finished 24th with a time of 1:45.09. In the next women's event, the 500-yard freestyle, the Nanooks had
Payton Wojciechowicz compete. She took 14th-place, posting a 5:08.45 prelim time and a 5:10.98 finals time.
Sophia Ruppert and
Camille Dayton competed in the third event for the women's race, competing in the 200-yard IM.
Ruppert took 17th-place with a prelim time of 2:14.71 before posting a finals time of 2:11.32. Dayton took 22nd with a prelim time of 2:13.54 and finished with a finals time of 2:13.57. The final event that the Nanooks competed in on day one was the 400-yard medley relay. The team made up of Berry, Lioi, McCallum and Ruppert took 17th with a finals time of 4:07.59. The other relay team made up of
Kyleigh McArthur,
Mesa Moran, Cameron Valent and Dayton placed 23rd with a time of 4:17.03.
The Nanooks are back in action at 9:00 a.m. AKT tomorrow and Sunday as they finish the La Verne Invitational.
