LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Alaska Nanooks swim team wrapped-up day two at the La Verne Winter Invitational in ninth place with 275 points. They'll finish up the three-day event tomorrow.
A team of
Nella Pashak,
Kyleigh McArthur,
Adeline Berry and
Emma Corby took 16
th in the 200-yard medley relay to start the Nanooks day. Following her performance in the relay, Corby took part in the finals of the 400-yard IM. She grabbed a fourth-place finish with a time of 4:33.33.
Adeline Berry and
Caroline McCormick made it to the 100-yard butterfly finals where the freshman Berry, took 18
th with a time of 59.16 while McCormick, a junior, took 20
th with a time of 59.95.
Sophia Ruppert and
Payton Wojciechowicz both made the finals in the 200-yard freestyle. Ruppert took 16
th with a time of 1:59.40 in the B-Final while Wojciechowicz grabbed 21
st with a time of 1:58.80 in the C-Final. In the final event of the day, the Nanooks 800-yard freestyle relay team of
Mesa Moran,
Caroline McCormick,
Shannon McCallum and
Emma Corby took home a ninth-place finish with a time of 8:00.50.
The Nanooks finish their time in California tomorrow with prelims beginning at 9:00 a.m. and finals beginning at 4:00 p.m. AKT.
