ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Alaska Nanooks rifle team posted another 4730+ score, this time shooting a 4734 against #14 NC State at the U.S. Naval Academy. They picked up the win 4734-4675. This win makes Alaska 6-0 on the season.

Will Anti, "Everyone had some highlights and had some tough patches, but they worked through them really effectively."
Rylan Kissell led the way in the aggregate category, shooting a 1187. Following closely behind was Sara Karasova, shooting an aggregate score of 1186.
Gavin Barnick,
Kellen McAferty and
Daniel Enger rounded out the Nanooks finishers in the top-five with third, fourth, and fifth-place finishes. Barnick shot a 1181 while McAferty finished with a 1179. Enger took fifth with a 1178 aggregate score.
In the individual smallbore standings, Karasova led the way with a 591. The Nanooks, once again, took one through five, with Kissell taking second with a 590, Barnick taking third with a 588, Enger taking fourth with a 587 and McAferty taking fifth with a 586. In air, the Nanooks took four of the top-five places. Kissell led the way, shooting a 597. Karasova took third, posting a score of 595. Barnick and McAferty took fourth and fifth, respectively, shooting a pair of 593's.
"Sara had a personal-best in smallbore, highlighted by some great standing. She has really put in a lot of time working on standing since our last match and she's definitely made some gains. Air continues to get more consistent as well. Rylan had a great comeback in smallbore after struggling on the first 10 shots of kneeling. Gavin has been a vision of consistency in the high-580's in three-position and it is giving himself a lot of opportunities to break into that next tier. We are looking forward to getting back on the range tomorrow and taking a bit of what we learned today into tomorrow's match." Added Anti.
The Nanooks continue their road-trip tomorrow against Navy with the match beginning at 5:00 a.m. AKT.
