USAFA, Colo. - The Nanooks rifle team takes off for their first road matches of the season. They are in Colorado at the Air Force Academy and the Olympic Training Center for matchups with No. 15 Air Force, No. 2 Georgia Southern, and No. 7 TCU.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks opened up the 2025-26 season with a pair of victories over No. 12 Ohio State last weekend at home. On day one, Alaska out shot the Buckeyes 4722-4714 to move to 1-0, 1-0 PRC. They were led by Julianna Hays who shot a match-high 1184 aggregate in her Nanooks debut. Teagan Perkowski (1182), Lucie Kissenberger (1182), and Noah Meierotto (1181) rounded out the top five finishes for Alaska. Finally, Sadie Palfrey fired an 1171 aggregate in her debut to finish 10th. 

On day two, the Nanooks fired a great score of a 4740-4705 for their second win of the season. Lucie Kissenberger led the way, taking first in the individual standings with an aggregate of 1190, a new career-best score for Kissenberger. Five other Nanooks appeared in the top 10 with Perkowski (1186) and Meierotto (1183) taking second and third. Tobias Bernhoft-Osa took fifth with an 1177, Marshall Schmidt took sixth with an 1176, and Hays took 10th with an 1171.

• The Nanooks check in at No. 3 in the most-recent NCAA Rifle Poll. They are tied with Kentucky for the three spot. 
• Lucie Kissenberger currently ranks eighth in aggregate average with an 1186 average. Teagan Perkowski follows with the 15th best aggregate average in the NCAA with an 1184. 
• Kissenberger is just outside of the top 10 for smallbore average with an average of 589.5. Noah Meierotto follows two spots behind with an average of 589 and Julianna Hays follows with an average smallbore score of 587.5. 
• Perkowski is 10th in the nation in air rifle average, firing an average of 597 through the first two matches this season. Kissenberger is five spots behind her teammate in 15th with an average of 596.5.
• As a team, the Nanooks have shot an aggregate average of 4731 with a 2348.5 smallbore average and 2382.5 air rifle average. Their aggregate average is sixth in the nation. Their smallbore and air rifle averages also ranks sixth. 

What's to Come
After this weekend's matchup with Air Force, Georgia Southern, and TCU, the Nanooks will take a weekend off before hitting the road again. Their next road trip taks them to Oxford, Miss. for a PRC matchup with Ole Miss and then to Martin, Tenn. for a non-conference match with UT Martin. Alaska will not compete at home until the second half of the year when they welcome Kentucky and Nebraska to Fairbanks on Jan. 17-18.
