Last Time Out
The Nanooks are coming home off of a tough road trip in which they fell to Alaska Anchorage and Montana State Billings. The grueling road trip began in Anchorage on Tuesday, Feb. 11 when the 'Nooks fell to the Seawolves 36-90.
Jocelyn Gandara led the way for the Nanooks with 13 points and freshman
Sam Tolliver added 10.
After a quick turnaround in Fairbanks, the Nanooks took to the air again, this time to Billings, Mont. to face off with the Yellowjackets. MSUB was too much for Alaska as they put up 24 or more points in all four quarters, defeating the Nanooks 59-103. Gandara and Tolliver again led the way for Alaska with 17 and 15 points respectively.
Senior Night
The Nanooks will be celebrating three seniors this Saturday. Those seniors are

Richards also joined the Nanooks in 2017-18 and has had a career-year in this, her senior year. She is averaging 6.0 points per game while grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game. In her career she has started 25 games, 24 of which came this season.
Coaches Corner
"We have two tough opponents coming to the Patty this week. We are hosting Western Washington for our breast cancer awareness 'Pink' game on Thursday and Simon Fraser for our senior day on Saturday. We have three great seniors (Ungaro, Richards, Wallace) who have had a tremendous impact on this Alaska women's basketball program. We are excited to honor them for their dedication and contributions to the program on Saturday afternoon."
Breast Cancer Awareness – Wear Pink Game
On Thursday night, the Nanooks will be hosting their annual "We Wear Pink" game, helping bring awareness to breast cancer. We will have many events going on in the Patty Center lobby and opportunities to win prizes and donate towards the cause. If you come out make sure you wear pink!
