@NanooksHockey's Glover, Kluting Named All-GNAC Honorable Mention

PORTLAND, Ore. –
On Tuesday, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced the 2018-19 All-Conference Men's Basketball Team with Alaska Nanooks junior guard Tymoryae Glover and junior forward Michael Kluting being named Honorable Mentions.

Glover and Kluting because the second and third players under first-year head coach Mick Durham to garner an all-conference selection, following senior guard Alex Baham's Preseason All-GNAC Team honor. It is Glover's first conference honor of his career as a Nanook and Kluting's second.

In his first year with the Nanooks, Glover appeared in 27 contests, averaging 13.33 points per game. The Pasadena, California native tallied 113 rebounds over the course of the season, averaging 4.19 per game. Glover shot 44.76 percent from the field (128-for-286) and 77.57 percent from the free throw line (83-for-107). Glover tallied 37 assists, 23 steals and 19 blocks.

Glover picked up one double-double throughout the season, registering 19 points and 10 rebounds against Central Washington on Jan. 19. Glover posted a season-best 31 points on Feb. 2 against Concordia, shooting 12-for-17 from the field and 7-for-7 from the free throw line.

In his third year with the program, Kluting appeared in all 28 contests for the Nooks. Kluting averaged a team-best 13.68 points per game and led the rebounding, averaging 8.96 per game. The Palmer, Alaska native ranked first in the GNAC in offensive rebounds with 86 (3.1 per game) and second in defensive rebounds with 160 (5.9 per game).

Kluting shot 51.6 percent from the field (145-for-281) and 68.03 percent from the free throw line (83-for-122). Kluting picked up 16 assists, 16 steals and 15 blocks throughout the season. Kluting also picked up a team-best and career-high 11 double-doubles.

Kluting picked up a season-high 17 rebounds on Feb. 21 against Simon Fraser, while posting a season-high 33 points against Hawaii Hilo on Nov. 12.

The Alaska Nanooks men's basketball team concluded the 2018-19 season last Saturday with a 65-92 loss against Montana State Billings at home. The Nooks closed out the season with a 5-22 overall mark, going 2-18 in conference play.
