She also placed sixth in the 1650-yard freestyle at 17:53.22, just 11 seconds behind teammate,
Camille Dayton.
Weiland saw some impressive swims over the weekend in California that resulted in Alaska defeating a great amount of Division I-talent, "We finished the Pepperdine Winter Invite with multiple wins, a school record, and an incredible amount of PR's and season-best swims. Honestly, I can't ask for much more as a coach, these ladies really stepped up this weekend and swam out of their minds. On top of that, we finished second among Division II programs and fourth overall, finishing higher than six other California Division I programs is a huge confidence booster for our team. This meet really set us up for a successful season."
The Nanooks will now have a month of rest as they prepare for the 2020 portion of their season when they head to Tacoma, Wash. to face off with Pacific Lutheran University.
