FAIRBANKS, Alaska – On Thursday night, Alaska Nanooks senior forward Kaillee Skjold became only the 18th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points after posting 26-points in Alaska's 79-74 victory over Concordia University. Currently, the Kasilof, Alaska native sits at the 1,003 point mark with 15 games remaining in the 2016-17 regular season.

Skjold is one of two active Nanooks to join the 1,000-point club, as fellow-senior forward Jordan Wilson recorded her 1,000th point last February and sits at 1,481 points after Thursday's contest.

In each of her previous three years as a Nanook, Skjold has upped her scoring total with no signs of letting up in her final year in an Alaska sweater. Skjold posted 199 points in her freshman campaign (2013-14), 266 her sophomore year (2014-15) and registered 358 during the 2015-17 season to enter this year at 823 career points.

At the time of article, Skjold ranks second on the Nooks in scoring, averaging 15.0 points per game and totaling 180 points in 12 games this season. Skjold has already collected a team-high six double-doubles this season, along with 10 games of scoring double-digit figures.

Skjold is on pace to rank ahead of head coach Cody Bench on the Alaska Women's Basketball's All-Time Scoring Leader list, as Bench ranks 17th overall with 1,100 career points, which she collected from 2002-05. With her numbers as of Jan. 6, Wilson currently sits at fourth overall on the list, dethroning Denise Perez (1999-2003) who posted 1,464 career points. Cathy Cox remains number one on the list, posting 2,075 career points from 1986-90.

Besides scoring, both Skjold and Wilson are on course to crack 600 career rebounds with Skjold at 583 career boards, while Wilson sits at 539. Skjold currently leads the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in rebounding, averaging 9.3 camrons per game.

The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team is currently on a two-game conference winning streak, posting a 6-6 overall record and 2-3 record in conference play.
