Last Time Out
The Nanooks are coming off a two-game road trip last week, traveling to Seattle Pacific and Montana State Billings. They fell to the Falcons 78-63 on Thursday and to the Yellowjackets 80-53 on Saturday.
The Nanooks led by eight in the final minutes of the second quarter vs. the Falcons and entered the fourth down by one, but they were outscored 22-8 in the final 10 minutes and fell by 15. Alaska had two players score in double figures, with Jazlynn Novelli posting 16 points on 6-18 shooting and 4-7 from deep, while Pearle Green added 14 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.
The Nanooks struggled to get things going offensively vs. MSUB, falling behind 13-0 early in the contest. They scored their first points of the game halfway through the first on a pair of Genevieve Velasquez free throws. They ended the half down 49-19, and despite outscoring the Yellowjackets over the final two quarters, the deficit was too much to overcome. Emily Freeman led the way with 15 points during the game, going 5-11 from downtown, and added four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
