FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks rifle team defeated UT Martin but fell to TCU in their double dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 24. Alaska shot a 4731 while TCU fired a high-score of 4734 and UT Martin shot a 4630.
The Nanooks had five individuals in the top 10 and two in the top three.
Teagan Perkowski led the Nanooks with a second place finish and team-high 1188 aggregate score. He was followed by freshman
Noah Meierotto, who placed third with an aggregate score of 1186.
Julianna Hays placed sixth with a score of 1181.
Lucie Kissenberger followed in seventh with an 1180, and
Marshall Schmidt placed ninth with an aggregate of 1178.Â
In smallbore, the Nanooks fired a 2352 to take second behind TCU (2356). UT Martin took third with a 2293. The Nanooks had six individuals in the top 10 for smallbore -
Teagan Perkowski led the way with a 592-42x and took second and
Noah Meierotto placed fourth with a 590-35x.
Julianna Hays,
Lucie Kissenberger,
Sadie Palfrey, and
Marshall Schmidt took sixth through ninth. Hays shot a 588-33x, Kissenberger shot a 587-40x, Palfrey shot a 587-30x, and Schmidt fired a 585-34x.
Amanda Pettersen and
Matthew Stout took 14th and 15th, respectively with scores of 579-26x and 579-25x and
Tobias Bernhoft-Osa took 19th with a 573-27x.Â
Alaska earned the top spot in air rifle with a 2379, beating TCU by one point. UTM shot a 2337. Perkowski led the way with a third-place finish and 596-53. Meierotto joined her in the top five with a score of 596-47x.
Tobias Bernhoft-Osa took seventh with a 594-45x,
Marshall Schmidt took ninth with a 593-51x, and
Julianna Hays closed out the top 10 with a 593-49x.
Lucie Kissenberger missed the top 10, taking 11th with a 593-45x. Pettersen, Stout and Palfrey rounded out the shooters for the Nanooks in air rifle.Â
What's Next
The Nanooks shoot again tomorrow at 8 a.m. in the E.F. Horton Rifle Range at the Patty Center.Â
