FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks rifle team fired an aggregate score of 4734 in their second match vs. Nebraska and Kentucky on Sunday, Jan. 18, taking second out of the three teams in their final match of the weekend. Nebraska took first with an aggregate of 4740, and Kentucky placed third with a 4733.

The Nanooks had four finish in the individual top 10. Lucie Kissenberger fired an 1187-79x to place fourth. Marshall Schmidt followed in sixth with a score of 1186-84x, and Tobias Bernhoft-Osa and Teagan Perkowski placed ninth and 10th, respectively with scores of 1182-81x and 1181-86x.

In smallbore, the Nanooks fired a 2346, while Nebraska shot a 2361 and Kentucky posted a 2345. Kissenberger led the way for the Nanooks in the discipline, finishing in fourth place with a 591-30x. Schmidt also finished in the top-10, placing sixth after firing a 590-34x. Bernhoft-Osa (584-30x), Perkowski (583-33x) and Amanda Pettersen (582-29x) followed in 13th, 14th and 15th, while Julianna Hays (582-24x) and Sadie Palfrey (578-29x) followed in 18th and 20th. Matthew Stout (577-27x) and Noah Meierotto (575-27x) placed 22nd and 23rd in the discipline.

In air rifle, Alaska posted a 2388 to match Kentucky's score in the discipline, while Nebraska shot a 2379. Perkowski fired a 598-53x to lead the squad and secure second place, while Meierotto and Bernhoft-Osa followed in third and fourth, respectively, with scores of 598-52x and 598-51x. Schmidt (596-50x) and Kissenberger (596-49x) also finished in the top 10, taking eighth and ninth. Hays placed 13th with a 595-47x, while Palfrey (593-50x), Pettersen (593-45x) and Stout (593-42x) finished 17th, 18th and 20th.

The Nanooks are back next weekend with two home matches vs. TCU and UT Martin on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25. Saturday's match will be shot at TVSA, while Sunday's will take place at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range.
