FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks rifle team fired a 4730 aggregate on Saturday, Jan. 17 to take third against Kentucky and Nebraska at TVSA. Kentucky took first with an aggregate of 4759 and Nebraska took second with a 4746.Â
The Nanooks had three finish in the individual top 10.
Lucie Kissenberger led the way with a fifth-place finish and aggregate score of 1187-89x.
Amanda Pettersen and
Sadie Palfrey followed in ninth and 10th places with scores of 1185-90x and 1185-88x, respectively. In smallbore, the Nanooks shot a discipline score of 2348. Kentucky fired a 2368 to lead the way and Nebraska shot a 2362.
Julianna Hays led the Nanooks with a third-place finish in the smallbore standings. She shot a 593-35x. Braden Peiser of Kentucky shot the high-score of 597-49x. Kissenberger, Palfrey and Pettersen rounded out the top 10 finishes in smallbore.Â
Kissenberger shot a 590-41x, good for seventh. Palfrey followed in eighth with a 590-39x, and Pettersen placed 10th with a 588-39x.
Marshall Schmidt shot a 587-34x to take 14th.
Matthew Stout,
Teagan Perkowski and
Tobias Bernhoft-Osa placed 19th, 20th, and 21st and
Noah Meierotto placed 23rd.Â
In air rifle, the Nanooks shot a 2382. They trailed Nebraska by only two (2384) and Kentucky shot a 2391. Two Nanooks were in the top 10 in air rifle.
Amanda Pettersen took seventh, firing a 597-51x to lead Alaska.
Lucie Kissenberger was right behind in eighth, shooting a 597-48x. Five Nanooks placed 11th through 15th with Meierotto taking 11th (595-53x), Palfrey taking 12th (595-53x), Schmidt taking 13th (595-49x), Bernhoft-Osa taking 14th (595-48x), and Perkowski taking 15th (594-46x).Â
Julianna Hays and
Matthew Stout rounded out the scoring for the Nanooks with a 588-41x and 588-35x, respectively.Â
These three teams meet again tomorrow morning at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range in the Patty Center at 8 a.m. AKST.Â
