Nanooks Rifle Announces 2025-26 Season Schedule

FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks rifle team has announced its 2025-26 competition schedule, featuring a strong mix of home matches and high-level road trips as part of their Patriot Rifle Conference (PRC) slate and broader national schedule. The Nanooks will host seven home events between two venues - E.F. Horton Rifle Range and Tanana Valley Sportsman Association (TVSA).

The season begins in Fairbanks with a PRC matchup against Ohio State on Oct. 17-18. Alaska then hits the road on Oct. 25-26 to face PRC rivals Air Force and TCU in Colorado Springs. The matchup with TCU will take place at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. In early November, the Nanooks travel south for a two-stop swing through the Southeast, with matches at Ole Miss and UT Martin before heading to West Point later that month to compete in a multi-team event hosted by Army that will also include a three team matchup with Navy. They will face Army on Nov. 22 before facing both Army and Navy on Nov. 23.

Alaska will return home in mid-January for another home weekend, welcoming Nebraska (PRC) and Kentucky for two matches across their Fairbanks facilities. Day one, Jan. 17, will be shot at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range and Jan. 18 will be shot at TVSA. A week later, the Nanooks will host TCU for a two-day PRC showdown on Jan. 24-25.

The 2025 PRC Championships will be held Feb. 6-7 in Oxford, Miss., hosted by Ole Miss. This is Ole Miss' first time hosting the PRC Championships after joining the conference a season ago. The Nanooks will then wrap up their regular season on February 21 with the NCAA Qualifier at home against UTEP, a meaningful match that also serves as the program's Senior Day. The NCAA Rifle Championships are slated for March 13-14, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio, hosted by Ohio State.

"We're incredibly excited for the season ahead — both to welcome some strong programs to Alaska and to get back on the road," said head coach Randi Loudin. "We'll open our travel season at Air Force before heading to the Olympic Training Center to compete with TCU. Shooting at OTC is always a unique experience, and last year's 50-foot setup gave our athletes a great opportunity to adapt and engage with the venue in a different way. We're also looking forward to hosting NCAA Qualifiers at home again with UTEP — it's a meaningful match for our team and a great way to recognize our seniors for our last home match of the season. This year's schedule includes some exciting additions, including our first trip in recent memory to UT Martin, two matches at Ole Miss, and a great opportunity to compete at West Point. For many of our athletes, it'll be their first time at these ranges, and I'm looking forward to the growth, challenge, and momentum we can build throughout the season."

With a balanced schedule of home events, conference matchups, and cross-country competition, the Nanooks are poised for another strong campaign as they pursue national success and individual excellence in 2025–26.
