FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks hockey team returns home for a single exhibition game on Saturday, Dec. 6 in the Carlson Center. This will be the final home game for the Blue and Gold in 2025.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks come home after an exciting road trip that culminated in a mid-season championship at the Adirondack Winter Invitational. The 'Nooks picked up a 2-0 win over St. Lawrence and then matched up with Clarkson, who won on Friday as well, creating a championship game. After falling behind 2-1, the Nanooks scored two unanswered goals to secure the 3-2 victory and the championship.
Lassi Lehti went 2-0-0-1 in net while
Michael Citara had three goals at the tournament.
Holiday Sweater Contest
Wear your best (or ugliest) holiday sweater to the game on Saturday! Prizes will be awarded to the best in attendance!
Teddy Bear Toss
Alaska Nanooks SAAC and the Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics are hosting their annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday. Bring new or slightly used stuffed animals or teddy bears to toss during Saturday's intermission. All stuffed animals and teddy bears will be donated following Saturday's game against GCU.

- Chase Dafoe currently ranks 27th in the nation in faceoff wins with 143. That ranks him second in the Independent ranks behind Billy Renfrew of Stonehill who has 148 wins.
- Dafoe also ranks 29th in the NCAA with three power-play goals.
- Lassi Lehti currently has a 2.44 goals against average, good for second in the Independent rankings and 29th in the NCAA Division I.
- He has a .926 save percentage this season through 10 games, ranking 17th in the nation. His one shutout is also tied for 13th in the nation and he is one of four in the Independent ranks with a shutout this year.
- Michael Citara is averaging 1.08 points per game. That ranks him 48th in the nation. His 0.54 goals per game puts him 35th in the nation.

All independent schools will face off later this season at the first-ever United Collegiate Hockey Cup in St. Louis, Mo. Here is how the five Independent teams look so far this season.

What's to Come
After this weekend's exhibition, the Nanooks will hit the road for their final games of 2025. They travel to Union on Dec. 12-13 before opening 2026 at Providence on Jan. 2-3. They'll stay out east at Cornell on Jan. 9-10 before they return home for the first games of the 2025-26 Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup on Jan. 16-17 in Fairbanks.
