Nanooks Fall in Game Two of Road Trip

SCHENECTADY, New York - The Nanooks hockey team fell to the Union Garnet Chargers on Saturday, Oct. 10. The loss drops the 'Nooks to 1-3-0 on the year.

Alaska struck first on the power play with Joel Lehtinen scoring his first goal in a Nanooks uniform. Misha Danylov found Jhett Larson who then found Lehtinen posted outside of the crease for the early goal, just 11:36 into the first. Unfortunately, that was all the Nanooks could make happen tonight. Former Nanooks forward Tommy Cronin found the equalizer 2:02 after Lehtinen. His game-tying goal made it 1-1 into the second period until Luke Garry scored the game-winner 5:17 into the second.

Union added one more in the second on a power-play goal from Tyler Dunbar. The 3-1 Union lead entered the third period before the Garnet Chargers added four more to end the game. Lucas Buzziol scored 4:29 into the third before Garry scored his second 6:44 into the final stanza. Connor Smith added another power-play goal for Union making it 6-1 and then Luke Buss tallied the final goal with 1:02 remaining in the game.
