FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks rifle team remains on the road this weekend, heading to Ole Miss for a match against the Rebels on Saturday, Nov. 8, before taking on UT Martin on Sunday.

The Nanooks finished third out of five teams in both their matches on Oct. 24-26. They faced off against Air Force, Georgia Southern, TCU and Schreiner, posting an aggregate score of 4710-310x on day one and 4718-316x on day two. TCU and Georgia Southern took the top spot on both days, and Air Force and Schreiner placed fourth and fifth in the two matches.
Match one took place over Friday and Saturday, with Julianna Hays and Sadie Palfrey firing on Friday before the rest of the Nanooks took the line Saturday. In smallbore, the Nanooks fired a 2329. That score was third in the discipline as TCU shot a 2365, GSU shot a 2332, Air Force posted a 2311 and Schreiner Univ. posted a 2132. Lucie Kissenberger led the way for the Nanooks with a 588-37x, placing fourth in the smallbore standings. Alaska took second in the air rifle discipline, posting a 2381. TCU led the way with a 2388 while GSU shot a 2378, Air Force shot a 2372, and Schreiner shot a 2241. The Nanooks had a pair of athletes fire 596 and higher as Tobias Bernhoft-Osa led the way with a 597-52x for a fifth-place finish. Teagan Perkwoski followed in eighth with a 596-46x.
On Sunday, the 'Nooks shot the third-best score in smallbore with a 2339. TCU posted the top score with a 2358, followed by Georgia Southern with a 2345. Behind Alaska was Air Force with a 2317 and Schreiner with a 2133. Kissenberger posted the best smallbore score for Alaska, firing a 589-37x, good for fourth in the individual smallbore standings. In air rifle Alaska placed third in the discipline with a 2379. Georgia Southern fired a 2393 while TCU shot a 2383 to place ahead of the Nanooks. Air Rifle and Schreiner Univ. followed with a 2367 and 2269. Noah Meierotto led the way for the Nanooks, firing a 597-51x to take sixth in the air rifle standings.

- Lucie Kissenberger currently ranks 15th in the nation in aggregate average with a 1183.75 over Alaska's first four matches. She ranks in the top 10 in smallbore average with a 589, which is tied for eighth.
- Teagan Perkowski has the highest air rifle average on the 'Nooks, as his 596.25 puts him 17th in the NCAA. His 1182.25 aggregate average is tied for 20th. He has also fired an average score of 586 in smallbore, putting him second on the team.
- Tobias Bernhoft-Osa sits second on the team in air rifle average with a 595.5.
- Noah Meierotto (1178.75), Julianna Hays (1175.25) and Tobias Bernhoft-Osa (1172.0) round out the top five for the Nanooks in aggregate average.

What's to Come
The Nanooks are off next weekend and will return to action on Nov. 22-23 in West Point, N.Y., for matches against Army and Navy. They face Army on Saturday before competing against Army and Navy on Sunday.
